Thrixel for Roblox

Build Roblox games with your coding agent

Describe a game in one prompt, and your coding agent builds it in Roblox Studio, with Thrixel generating every 3D model it needs.

Why Use Thrixel

Without Thrixel

  • Models are built out of Parts and wedges, which look blocky and unfinished.
  • Writing geometry by hand spends tokens that would otherwise go to the game itself.
  • In a gauntlet loop, the critic keeps flagging the art, and the agent has no better way to make it.

With Thrixel

  • Textured 3D models are generated from text or reference images.
  • Models generate in parallel while the agent writes code.
  • Individual parts of a model, like a sail or a door, can be edited on their own.

Roblox Studio Support

  • Named parts

Thrixel models are split into named parts, and each one imports into Roblox as its own MeshPart. Scripts can move parts separately, so doors can open and propellers can spin.

  • Correct scale

Each model is measured against the player character and scaled in studs.

  • Performance

Static parts are merged to reduce draw calls, and triangle counts are lowered to fit a set budget.

  • Automatic upload

Models are uploaded through Roblox Open Cloud and added to the place with their textures. When a model changes, only that model is uploaded again.

  • Rojo sync

Scripts are saved as Luau files and synced into Studio with Rojo, so they work with git and any code editor.

  • Playtesting

The agent runs the game in Play mode, takes screenshots, and checks the Output window for script errors.

How It Works

You

  • Add the skill and connect Studio
  • Describe the game

Coding agent

  • Plans the game
  • Writes the Luau scripts
  • Places models in the level
  • Playtests and fixes issues

Thrixel

  • Generates the models
  • Adds detail and textures
  • Reduces triangle counts
  • Saves them to the Thrixel workspace

The finished game opens in Roblox Studio and is published from there.

Get Started

1 Add the Build World skill to a coding agent.

Install the build-world skill from https://github.com/thrixel/build-world and follow the setup instructions in that repo.

2 Describe the game and name Roblox as the engine.

/thrixel:build-world build an obby in roblox that climbs through a floating sky city, with airships and spinning windmills

Games already made in Three.js or Unity can be rebuilt in Roblox from the same Thrixel models. Setup for Codex, Gemini CLI and other agents is in the Build World setup guide.
